Just Drive Driving School ("Just Drive", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website or book lessons with us, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you give us directly, such as when you fill in the booking or contact forms, subscribe to our newsletter, or speak to us by phone or email. This may include:

  • Name, email address and phone number
  • Pickup address or general location for lessons
  • Driving experience level, gearbox preference and lesson notes
  • Payment details, processed securely by our payment provider (we do not store full card numbers)
  • Any other information you choose to share with us, e.g. in the message field of a form

We also automatically collect some technical information when you browse our website, such as your IP address, browser type, device information and pages visited, via cookies and similar technologies (see Section 4).

2. How We Use It

We use your information to:

  • Respond to booking and contact enquiries, and arrange your driving lessons
  • Match you with a suitable instructor and pickup schedule
  • Process payments and keep accurate business records
  • Send you service updates, such as lesson confirmations or rescheduling notices
  • Send marketing updates where you have opted in, which you may unsubscribe from at any time
  • Improve our website and services, and understand how visitors use our site
  • Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations

Under UK data protection law, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to arrange and deliver lessons you have booked), legitimate interests (to run and improve our business, e.g. website analytics), consent (for marketing communications and non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time), and legal obligation (e.g. record-keeping for tax purposes).

4. Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working correctly, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it. Essential cookies are required for core functionality and cannot be switched off. Analytics cookies are optional and only set with your consent, where required by law. You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.

5. Sharing Your Data

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:

  • Our driving instructors, so they can deliver the lessons you've booked
  • Trusted service providers who support our business, such as payment processors, email and booking software, and website hosting — under contracts that protect your data
  • Regulators or authorities where we are legally required to do so

We do not transfer your personal data outside the UK/EEA unless appropriate safeguards are in place.

6. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to satisfy any legal, accounting or reporting requirements. Booking and payment records are typically kept for up to 6 years to meet our tax obligations. If you contact us but never become a customer, we'll retain your enquiry details for a reasonable period in case you follow up, then delete them.

7. Data Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. While no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, we work to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data.

8. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Ask us to delete your data, in certain circumstances
  • Restrict or object to certain processing of your data
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe we have not handled your data properly.

9. Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for learners who meet the minimum legal driving age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We'll post the updated version on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
